NEW TO INVESTING?Start with the basicsA short guide to your first steps, choosing an app and avoiding common mistakes.Get Started

Before you open an account

  1. Set aside money you may need soon.Keep an emergency buffer and consider expensive debt first. Investing is usually for money you can leave alone for years.
  2. Decide what you are buying.Learn the difference between a share, a diversified fund, an ETF and a pension. An index is a benchmark, not something you can buy directly.
  3. Compare providers and costs.Check the legal firm behind the app, regulation, trading and currency fees, ongoing fund charges, withdrawal rules and available tax records.
  4. Start at a size you understand.Use a manageable amount, read the product details and keep records of purchases, sales, dividends and fees.

Apps you can compare

Examples available to explore in Ireland, not a ranking or endorsement. Features, eligibility and fees can change. Check each provider's current terms.

Take care before you invest

  • Investments can fall in value. No return is guaranteed, including the calculator's example rates.
  • Check the firm and its permissions on the Central Bank register ↗. Confirm which legal entity serves your account.
  • Avoid promises of quick returns, pressure to act, leverage and CFDs while learning. Use official app links and enable two-factor authentication.
  • Irish tax depends on the product. ETFs and funds may face different rules, including deemed disposal; the CGT estimate below models direct shares only.

EuroWise provides general education and illustrative calculations. It does not arrange investments, recommend a provider or product, or give personal financial or tax advice. These are independent examples with no paid placement or affiliate links. If unsure, speak to a regulated adviser or tax professional.

LEGAL

Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms before using EuroWise. They explain what the service does, its important limits, and the responsibilities that apply to both EuroWise and its users.

Effective 24 September 2026
1

About these terms

These Terms and Conditions form an agreement between you and EuroWise when you access or use the EuroWise website, installed web app, account features, calculators or other tools. By selecting “Agree and continue”, you confirm that you have read and accepted them. If you do not agree, do not use EuroWise.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a contract. EuroWise is intended primarily for people in Ireland. If you use it elsewhere, you are responsible for checking whether it is suitable and lawful in your location.

2

The service

EuroWise provides tools for manually recording financial figures, planning budgets, exploring savings and debt scenarios, estimating take-home pay, comparing mortgage and PCP examples, reviewing rent benchmarks, testing possible purchases and exploring long-term investment illustrations.

EuroWise does not hold money, connect to bank accounts, arrange credit, execute investments, broker financial products, make lending decisions or act for any bank, insurer, investment firm, adviser, tax authority or government body. Sample data is fictional and is supplied only to demonstrate the app.

3

No financial advice or recommendation

EuroWise provides general education, estimates and decision-support tools only. Nothing in the service is personalised financial, investment, pension, mortgage, credit, tax, accounting or legal advice, and nothing is an offer, invitation, endorsement or recommendation to buy, sell, borrow, invest or enter any product or transaction.

EuroWise does not assess suitability, affordability, creditworthiness or your full circumstances. Decisions remain yours. For a decision that could materially affect your finances, check the figures and obtain advice from an appropriately authorised adviser, solicitor, accountant, tax professional, lender or other qualified professional.

4

Calculations, rates and external information

All outputs depend on the figures and assumptions entered. Results can differ because of rounding, timing, fees, rate changes, tax treatment, lender criteria, benefits, inflation, market performance, product terms and personal circumstances. Forecasts and assumed returns are not guarantees.

Mortgage rates, PCP examples, rents, tax information, market charts and other external information may be delayed, selected examples or estimates. A “last verified” date means the source was reviewed on that date, not that the provider issued or guaranteed the figure on that date. You must check current terms directly with the relevant provider or official source.

Third-party links, charts and data are provided for convenience. Their availability, accuracy, content, privacy practices and terms are controlled by the third party. Their inclusion does not mean EuroWise endorses them or that they endorse EuroWise.

5

Accounts, encryption and your data

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method, device, encryption passphrase, recovery key and authentication codes secure. Do not share them. EuroWise cannot recover an encryption passphrase and may be unable to restore encrypted plan data without the recovery key.

You must enter accurate information, keep your own backup where appropriate and check that changes have saved. If two devices edit the same plan, the most recently saved version may replace the other version. Do not enter bank passwords, card PINs, full card numbers, PPS numbers, identity-document numbers or other credentials that EuroWise does not request.

The Privacy Centre explains how account information and encrypted plan data are handled. These terms do not replace your data-protection rights.

6

Acceptable use

You may use EuroWise for lawful personal use. You must not misuse the service, attempt unauthorised access, defeat security controls, interfere with other users, introduce malicious code, scrape or overload the service, impersonate another person, use another person’s financial information without permission, or use EuroWise to facilitate fraud or another unlawful activity.

You must not copy, resell or commercially exploit a substantial part of EuroWise unless you have written permission. Reasonable security testing requires prior written approval. EuroWise may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service or the law.

7

Who owns EuroWise?

EuroWise is an independent project created and operated by Luke Moran. OpenAI provides the ChatGPT tools used to help build it and the Sites platform used to host it. ChatGPT is an OpenAI product; neither ChatGPT nor OpenAI is presented as the owner or operator of EuroWise.

Under OpenAI’s European Terms of Use, as between the user and OpenAI and to the extent permitted by law, the user retains their input and owns the output. This does not transfer rights in OpenAI’s services, other people’s material or third-party content. Domain registration, trademarks and any company ownership are separate matters governed by their own records and law.

If EuroWise is sold

Luke Moran, as the current project owner, would be the seller of the rights and assets he actually holds. A buyer would own only what the sale agreement expressly transfers, such as the EuroWise name and branding rights (to the extent owned), original source code and content, the domain registration if transferable, and any customer contracts or business assets included in the deal. If a company later owns those assets, that company would be the seller instead. Payment for a website does not by itself transfer every account, licence or intellectual-property right.

OpenAI does not automatically become a seller or receive the sale proceeds because its tools helped create or host EuroWise. OpenAI retains its rights in ChatGPT and its services. A buyer would need their own permitted hosting and service arrangements; a personal ChatGPT or Sites account should not be assumed transferable. Third-party code, data, images, fonts, trademarks and integrations remain subject to their separate owners and licences. User financial data is not intellectual property that can simply be sold without meeting privacy, contract and data-protection obligations.

Before any sale, the parties should list the assets, verify who holds each right, identify third-party restrictions, and record the assignment or transfer in a written agreement. This page describes the present position; the signed transaction documents would determine the buyer’s rights.

EuroWise’s original design, software, text and branding may be protected by intellectual-property law. Visitors receive a limited right to use the service under these terms and retain ownership of information they enter. Third-party names, logos, market data and content remain subject to their owners’ rights.

8

Availability, updates and changes

EuroWise aims to keep the service available and accurate but does not promise uninterrupted, error-free or permanently available access. Maintenance, security events, third-party failures, internet problems or legal requirements may interrupt features. Keep independent records of information you cannot afford to lose.

Features may be corrected, improved, replaced or withdrawn for valid operational, security, legal or product reasons. Material changes to these terms will be presented clearly and will apply prospectively. Where consent is required by law, EuroWise will request it. Continued use after a notified effective date constitutes acceptance only where the law permits.

9

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or your mandatory rights under Irish consumer law. This includes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation and liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

If you are a consumer, EuroWise is responsible for loss or damage that is a reasonably foreseeable result of its breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. EuroWise is not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, for business loss arising from personal use, or for loss caused by inaccurate user inputs, failure to follow warnings, independent financial decisions, third-party products or services, or events outside EuroWise’s reasonable control.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EuroWise is not responsible for investment losses, missed gains, borrowing costs, tax liabilities, penalties, lost opportunities or decisions made in reliance on an estimate, forecast, rate, chart or comparison where EuroWise has clearly identified the information as illustrative or third-party information and has not failed to use reasonable care and skill.

If you use EuroWise for business purposes, all implied terms are excluded to the extent permitted by law. EuroWise will not be liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, goodwill, data or anticipated savings, or for indirect or consequential loss. Its total aggregate liability for business use is limited to the greater of €100 or the fees paid by you for EuroWise in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

10

Suspension, deletion and ending use

You may stop using EuroWise at any time. Signed-in users can delete their account and encrypted financial record through the account controls. Device-only data can be removed by resetting the app or clearing the browser’s storage. Download any backup you need first.

EuroWise may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated misuse, a security threat, legal requirements or discontinuation of the service. Where reasonably possible, advance notice and an opportunity to export data will be provided. Provisions that logically continue, including intellectual property and liability provisions, survive termination.

11

Irish law, complaints and general terms

These terms are governed by Irish law. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings available under the law of your country of residence. Otherwise, the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction.

If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. These terms, together with the Privacy Centre and any clearly identified paid-plan terms, form the agreement for use of EuroWise.

Raise a complaint through the support route shown in EuroWise. Consumers can also obtain independent information from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission. Nothing in this section restricts any statutory complaint or redress right.

12

Operator and contact

EuroWise is the trading name used for this Irish-operated online service. The app is currently offered as a pre-commercial planning service. Before any paid subscription or commercial transaction is offered, EuroWise will publish the operator’s full legal name, geographic address, direct email contact and any applicable registration details.

For current assistance or a legal notice, use the support route displayed in the app. Do not send bank credentials, card details, PPS numbers or encryption keys in a support request.

PRIVACY CENTRE

Your figures are encrypted before cloud saving

The current EuroWise app encrypts signed-in financial plans in the browser. The encryption passphrase and recovery key are not uploaded.

WHAT IS STORED

Account and plan data

  • The sign-in service stores the user’s email address and account identifier.
  • Financial entries are uploaded only as an encrypted data package.
  • Supabase stores technical timestamps needed for saving and account operation.
  • Selecting a market in Growth Lab loads that chart from TradingView. No EuroWise plan figures are included in that request.
  • EuroWise does not ask for bank passwords, card PINs or online-banking credentials.

WHO CAN READ IT

Access boundaries

  • The user can decrypt their plan using their passphrase or recovery key.
  • Other users cannot query the record because row-level ownership rules are enforced.
  • Database administrators can see account metadata and encrypted ciphertext, but not the stored plan contents.
  • A person with access to an unlocked device may see information currently open on that device.

ON THIS DEVICE

Local protection

  • Signed-in local copies are stored in encrypted form.
  • The decrypted plan exists temporarily in browser memory while the app is unlocked.
  • Closing or refreshing the app requires the encryption passphrase again.
  • Signed-out, device-only plans use browser storage and should only be used on a private, secured device.

USER CONTROLS

Choices and deletion

  • Replace the encryption passphrase or recovery key from Account settings.
  • Enable authenticator-app two-factor authentication.
  • Sign out the current device or all active sessions.
  • Delete the complete EuroWise account and encrypted financial record permanently.

IMPORTANT LIMITS

What users should know

Never enter highly sensitive credentialsDo not enter PPS numbers, bank passwords, card numbers, PINs, authentication codes or identity-document numbers. EuroWise only needs financial totals and planning figures.

Client-side encryption protects the saved plan from a database-only compromise, but it cannot protect an unlocked device, a compromised browser, a malicious extension, a malicious future app update, or a recovery key shared with someone else. Users are responsible for keeping their passphrase and downloaded recovery key private.

RETENTION & CONTACT

Privacy notice status

Updated 22 Sep 2026

Encrypted plan data is retained until the user deletes the account. Account deletion removes the financial record and sign-in identity. EuroWise is operated from Ireland. Formal data-controller identity, postal contact details, processor information and a dedicated privacy contact must be published before a wider commercial launch.
